Drexel Sierra Club attended Power Shift 2009
February 27 to March 2, 2009 Washington, DC
Power Shift is a conference where young adults come
together to strengthen the movement for real climate and economic
solutions by learning skills and solutions, building bonds, and
setting clear plans for action in our communities. This conference fits very well into the current initiatives to create a more sustainable University.
It will provide
attendees with the opportunity to hear from influential people and
students within the environmental community and gain knowledge and
training to bring back with them to use at the university.
The goal this year is to have an attendance of 10,000 and our goal is
to bring a bus full of Drexel students and faculty to show that we are
out to make a difference.
This trip is to learn and bring back what we have learned in order to use that knowledge on campus.
Hotel, Transportation, and Registration will be provided to Drexel University Undergrad and Graduate students and select Faculty/Staff that would like to attend. Food will not be provided, but the hotel has free breakfast.
Attendees are required to attend the predeparture meeting in which we will assign tasks for people to bring back information and how we will use the knowledge obtained. Early notification is required if unable to attend.
