Letter to the editor: Drexel moves towards sustainability

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Drexel Sierra Club, I would like to congratulate Drexel University on its plans to build a silver [Leader in Energy and Environmental Design]-certified Integrated Sciences Building. By setting this high standard for its buildings, Drexel is also setting expectations of environmental excellence for both its students and the surrounding community.

It is refreshing to see a university within the Philadelphia region make such a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

I hope that the administration continues this positive example of stewardship by creating lasting policies of sustainability in all areas of campus life.
